and more
The story begins in 1897, when visionary hotelier Edmond Norris , captivated by the untouched majesty of the Valais mountains, dreamt of creating a sanctuary unlike any other — a place where the rugged purity of the Alps would meet the grace and refinement of European hospitality.
Guided by this vision, Norris chose a secluded plateau overlooking a pristine valley, where the silence of the pines mingled with the distant echo of cowbells. There, with the help of local craftsmen and artisans, he began to build what would become the Grand Norris Palace.
Each stone was carved from the surrounding cliffs, each beam of larch wood carried up the slopes by mule. The architecture blended Belle Époque elegance with mountain authenticity, creating an atmosphere that felt both majestic and deeply intimate.
The story
Grand Norris Palace
Perched high above the valley of Orsières, in the enchanting Valais region of Switzerland, the Grand Norris Palace enjoys one of the most breathtaking settings in the Alps.
Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, pine forests, and crystal-clear mountain lakes, the Palace overlooks a panorama that changes with every season from the golden glow of autumn to the soft, shimmering silence of winter.
The Grand Norris Palace is a place where luxury meets wilderness, where silence becomes a form of poetry, and where every horizon reminds you how vast and beautiful the world can be.
Our beloved
Swiss Alps

The estate lies at the crossroads of ancient mountain paths once used by shepherds and traders crossing into Italy. Today, it remains a place of quiet majesty, far from the noise of the world yet easily accessible from Verbier, Montreux, or Geneva. Guests arrive along a winding alpine road that reveals, turn after turn, a landscape of pure wonder — until, at last, the turrets of the Grand Norris Palace emerge against the sky.
Here, nature reigns supreme. Mornings begin with the scent of larch and the sound of distant waterfalls; evenings end under a canopy of stars untouched by city lights. The Palace's terraces open onto sweeping views of the Mont Blanc massif and the Trient Glacier, offering a sense of peace that feels almost sacred.
